Death & the Maiden

The Client asked for a piece purely for their enjoyment as their book went on submission. She asked for a picture that combined both heroes. I drew heavily from the Japanese production of the musical Elisabeth, one of the client's inspirations. Since the story was split between the underworld and the Mediterranean, I chose to mix sunlight with cave light. I also made the picture in the proportions of a poster/book cover to allow her to have it printed and hung, as well as resized to be used as a Twitter header (which she currently uses).
